The adidas Originals x KoRn collaboration returns for its 3rd installment with Superstar sneakers, 3 stripes tracksuits & tartan sportswear.

From the original B-Boys of the early 1980s with their full adidas tracksuits to the Britpoppers of the mid 90s with their swaggering Sambas to the more recent “Blokecore” trend of Gazelle trainers, jeans & retro football shirts. There was also this thing called Nu-Metal, which peaked around the late 90s and early noughties. Think Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst crowd surfing (literally) on a board of plywood to Breakstuff at Woodstock in 99′ or AJ Soprano going to visit his Grandma at Newark hospital in a Slipknot coach jacket. Drop d tuned guitars, dreadlocks & adidas Superstar trainers (or shell toes as they were known in the scene) were all the rage as bands like Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Deftones and KoRn took over the (M)TV waves with a hybrid sound of rap & metal. KoRn even had a song named after the German sportswear brand and were renowned for wearing full adidas tracksuits in Nu-Metal anthems like ‘Blind’ from 1994 which was from their debut album. In celebration of their 30th anniversary the Bakersfield born band have joined forces with adidas Originals to celebrate the launch of their debut album. Now into its 3rd installment the KoRn x adidas Originals collection returns for October 2024.
Featuring a collection of Nu-Metal inspired garb in typical KoRn style, the collaboration features a reversible tracksuit complete with classic 3 stripes and a tartan print to one side which gives a nod to KoRn’s frontman, Jonathan Davis, who famously wore tartan kilts for live performances. There’s also a tartan overshirt and a long sleeved graphic tee which features 3 stripes sleeves & collaboration artwork of the bands self titled album cover from 1994. Other highlights include a 3 stripes hoodie with a tartan inner lining, knee-high 3 stripes socks, a beanie & a tote bag.
On the footwear sides of things there’s a pair of Adilette slides as well as the KoRn x adidas Originals Superstar trainer in the classic black/white nu-metal colourway which features changeable 3 stripes as well as the iconic KoRn logo. A printed insole with the band’s debut album graphics completes the “shell toe” shoe. The adidas Originals x KoRn Superstar trainer & apparel collection launches from select stockists from Thursday 31st October 2024.
