The adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 takes running trainer innovation into a new stratosphere with more energy return than its predecessor for a competitive edge like nothing before.
It’s probably fair to say that the running heritage of adidas is already in a league of its own. From pioneering OG sole technology with Bill Dellinger on the Oregon back in the early 1980s, to the legendary ZX line which focused on various terrains with runners’ needs at the very core of each design. Whether it’s the adidas SL72, the adidas Country, the Boston Super or the adidas New York, ‘die marke mit den 3 streifen’ knows a thing or two about marathons, the champions who run them & the running innovation needed to be the fastest. For April 2025 adidas take trainer tech to a new stratosphere with the introduction of the next generation of the Adizero Adio Pro Evo silhouette. The German sportswear brand has now revealed the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2, building on the legacy of its slightly older sibling that was worn by more major marathon winners than any other running trainer since its record breaking debut at the Berlin Marathon back in 2023. That’s a pretty bold statement in today’s fiercely competitive running trainer market!
The updated “speed focused” design features a 10% increase in the forefoot stack height which delivers 5% more energy return (lab tested) courtesy of 3mm more of LIGHTSTRIKE PRO EVO foam than its predecessor. A new reimagined outsole features a grid-like pattern strategically placed on the forefoot, engineered to offer traction as the foot hits the floor. Engineered to deliver even greater energy return and race-day speed, the updated design features technological enhancements that puts the adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 in a league of its own with even more competitive edge for its wearer. Featuring silver uppers with contrasting 3 stripes in bold red, the Pro Evo 2 is all about visibility & speed. Launching exclusively from adidas.co.uk in May 2025. The design process for this shoe was a challenging but ultimately rewarding pursuit that started with simply looking at how we can make the fastest shoe we’ve ever created, even faster – all whilst keeping the weight consistent. The Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 is born from our relentless pursuit of speed – refined through rigorous testing – from the high-altitude training camps in Iten, Kenya to our innovation labs in Herzogenaurach.
