The SPZL F.C. collection from Gary Aspden and adidas Spezial celebrates grassroots football, subculture & the heritage of adidas with the beautiful game.
If you’re a football fan it’s pretty hard not to go on the terraces on a Saturday afternoon and see some form of adidas SPZL flag whether it’s in Burnley, Birmingham or Bermondsey. Football culture & trefoil nostalgia is, in a nut shell, what adidas SPZL is all about and this latest SPZL F.C. collection featuring Jürgen Klopp is exactly that. The history of the beautiful game & Adi Dassler goes way back to the very first screw in stud football boot which was worn by the West German football team in 1954. Endorsing everyone from Franz Beckenbauer to David Beckham over the last 50 years, this latest collection from adidas Spezial celebrates grassroots football with a crossover collection of performance apparel & football footwear.
Featuring the Liverpool legend, Jürgen Klopp, the SPZL F.C. collection features the Copa Mundial SPZL F.C. football boot which is inspired by the Copa Mundial which was first released in 1979 and worn at the Spanish World Cup in 1982. With premium leather uppers and an 80s inspired fold over tongue with contrasting red studs & stitching. There’s also the Mundial Team SPZL F.C. trainer which is an AstroTurf version of the Copa Mundial football boot and features black leather uppers with an updated suede T-toe overlay, an oversized tongue & the signature mod trefoil logo to the tongue. On the apparel side of things there’s a CORDURA parka for some classic 1980s dugout vibes alongside a track top and track bottoms for the ultimate in trefoil training gear.
