Take a closer look at the adidas ZX 600 x size? exclusive trainer which revives the original ZX trainer from 1986 in two striking colourways.

As far as trainer innovation goes the ZX line from adidas was definitely up there. It was the 1980s that saw an almost “space race” like sneaker equivalent to create the most innovative sole technology instead of “communist v capitalist” it was strictly the big sportswear companies going head to head. In the same decade Nike gave us Air Max, ASICS gave us GEL & New Balance gave us ENCAP. 1984 saw adidas release their legendary ZX line which took running trainer tech to all new levels. The concept was to create a range of running trainers that could be used for various terrains with runners’ needs at the very forefront of each size. Introducing the latest in innovation like Torsion & Soft Cell sole technology, just like anything else 80s adidas in the 1980s, it was pretty obvious the ZX stuff wasn’t just going to be worn by elite runners. Continuing into the 90s it was OG silhouettes like the adidas ZX 600 which gave the ZX line it the respect it truly deserved. In collaboration with the JD Sports owned sneaker & streetwear store, the classic 80s crep’ now returns for August 2024 with the introduction of the adidas ZX 600 x size? exclusive release.

First released back in 1986, the ZX 600 trainer followed in the footsteps of the ZX 500 from 1984 and was originally designed by Jacques Chassaing. Tasked with the brief of competing with Nike’s state of the art Air sole technology, the ZX 600 featured ground breaking trainer tech. Not only a hit with elite runners, the ZX 600 also found a home on the feet of the late 80s ravers with comfort at its core when the basslines & melodies “kicked” in. Following on from previous re-releases of the celebrated 80s shoe, adidas now teams up with size? with the Bury based sneaker & streetwear retailer putting their own stamp on the classic ZX silhouette.

Dropping in two colourways, both featuring pops of ‘safety orange’ to the perforated 3 stripes, heel tab and outsole. Sticking to the original ZX 600 design with mesh & suede uppers with TPU tooling and adidas trefoil branding to the midsole, tongue & heel. Finished off with a lugged rubber outsole giving a nod to the ZX 600’s trail heritage the drop is now available exclusively from size?.
