After listing on the New York stock exchange earlier in the year, the Arc’teryx and Salomon owner, Amer Sports has surpassed Q2 2024 expectations with a 16% increase in sales.

Following on from the huge trend over the last 5 years of hiking gear, performance apparel & technical trail trainers, as you all probably already know as Gorpcore, it’s no surprise really that a company that owns the likes of Arc’teryx & Salomon would still be surpassing sales expectations. Well that’s exactly what Amer Sports have done in their recent Q2 2024 results. The Arc’teryx & Salomon owner reported a 16% increase in sales with a revenue increase of $994 million for the last quarter. Surpassing original expectations, with analysts predicting a 10% increase, Amer Sports have credited the increase to technical apparel sales which was up 34% to $407 million, mainly from Acr’teryx, as the world renowned bird logo brand continues to grow in popularity. The outdoors performance division of the brand was also up, with a sales increase of 11%.

Founded in Finland in 1950, Amer Sports is a sporting equipment company that owns Arc’teryx, Salomon, Peak Performance & Wilson to name a few with a global mission to “elevate the world through sport”. Earlier in the year back in February 2024 the Helsinki based multi-national company went public and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange raising $1.4 billion for its initial offering with a company value of $6.5 billion. Its original purchase of Arc’teryx back in 2005 has seen the Finish company become a global innovator in performance apparel.

I am very pleased by our financial and operational performance in the second quarter of 2024. Our unique portfolio of premium technical brands is taking share in sports and outdoor markets all around the world. Led by our flagship Arc’teryx brand, we well exceeded our own high expectations on all key financial metrics, positioning us to deliver another strong year in 2024.
