It would be fair to say that the Boston born sneaker & streetwear store, Bodega, have already given us some of the most talked about releases over the last 5 years from ‘Better Days’ with New Balance to Patchwork wallabees with Clarks. September 2024 now marks their next partnership with the legendary Japanese sneaker brand ASICS. Introducing the Bodega x ASICS Kayano 20 ‘Small Wins Add Up’ trainer which seeks to explore the everyday life of trials and tribulations across the highly respected Kayano silhouette which came on the sneaker scene back in the early 90s. This time around its the more recent Kayano 20 silhouette which was originally launched back in 2013. Following in the footsteps of the very first Gel trainer from 1986, the Gel Kayano first came on the scene in the highly competitive trainer tech world of the early 90s. Designed and named after ASICS designer Toshikazu Kayano, the Gel Kayano was introduced in 1993 as a long distance running shoe. Celebrating its 30th anniversary last year, the Gel Kayano is highly regarded as one of the greatest ASICS running trainers of all time. Just like any other classic, there’s also various iterations and the Kayano is no different, with different numbers like the Kayano 14 & the Kayano 20. Steeped in performance heritage, the GEL Kayano still looks just as great on the track as it does on the streets. Featuring a neutral color palette of silver green & eucalyptus with white mesh uppers uppers & synthetic overlays with a mesh tongue. Under-feet there’s the signature technical two-layer midsole with GEL sole technology for superior cushioning. The Bodega x ASICS Kayano 20 ‘Small Wins Add Up’ trainer launches on Thursday 12th September 2024 and is available to cop from stockx.com.
