Take A Closer Look At The C.P. Company x adidas Wimberly SPZL

The C.P. Company x adidas Wimberly SPZL draws inspiration from the Handball Spezial trainer from 1979 and celebrates the 10th anniversary of the exclusive adidas label.

Following on from their recent collaboration with Man Citeh (boo…sorry I’m United!), C.P. Company are back at it, this time with Gary Aspden’s adidas Spezial line. 2024 marked the 10th anniversary of adidas Spezial with 3 stripes fanatics from all over the world descending on Darwen in Lancashire for a very “spezial” exhibition of all things trefoils & 3 stripes. After the two highly respected “casual” brands collaborated back in 2021 on the adidas Spezial ‘Italia’ trainer (where does time go?) C.P. Company and adidas Spezial are back with a bang for November 2024 for more collectible “casual” grails. Recently teased on Instagram via @cakenotcrumbs we can now unveil the C.P. Company x adidas Wimberly SPZL trainer which launches for November 2024.

Drawing inspiration from the OG Hand Spezial trainer, which was originally released back in 1979, the C.P. Company x adidas Wimberly SPZL celebrates the 10th anniversary of Gary Aspden’s exclusive adidas line. Originally released as an indoor training shoe, the Handball Spezial was designed for the speedy handball courts of West Germany but quickly gained a cult like status among the Casuals of the same era for its European exclusivity. A timeless 3 stripes silhouette that has seen numerous Spezial releases over the last 10 years now arrives in the form of the Wimberly Spezial, a classic gum soled suede shoe with all that OG Continental charm.

Featuring tonal brown suede uppers in classic 3 stripes style with perforations to the toe box and a contrasting nylon tongue. The iconic 3 stripes are stamped across the sidewalls with a classic gum sole underfoot for that OG Spezial touch. There’s also collaboration branding to the tongue & 2 lace tags which features C.P. Company’s iconic sailor logo as well as a 10th anniversary Spezial tag. The C.P. Company x adidas Wimberly SPZL launches on 12th November 2024.
