The new JD Sports ‘Campus’ HQ will feature an all weather sports pitch, gym, running track & padel court for its staff to use.
As a fellow business also located in Greater Manchester, we’re literally in a few miles radius of the great northern retail/brand stronghold. Footasylum’s main distribution centre is located in Middleton, Manchester which serves as a global hub for its online customers from both Footasylum & SEVENSTORE. Footasylum’s head offices are also located just up the road in Kingsway, Rochdale. The Northern wholesale showroom for Carhartt WIP is based just off Hilton Street in Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter. adidas UK are based in Hazel Grove in Stockport & New Balance are just a bit further down the Shipping Canal from Salford in Warrington, Cheshire. Then there’s the JD Sports headquarters in Pilsworth just outside of Bury, located near the dreaded Simister Island motorway junction above Heaton Park. The globally recognised sportswear retailer have now unveiled their plans for a brand new ‘campus’ HQ which is set to rival the likes of Silicon Valley’s Facebook & Google, bringing the best talent and innovation to the ever evolving Greater Manchester region.
The new, revised plans for a campus headquarters in Pilsworth, Bury feature an all weather sports pitch, gym, running track, a padel court & on-site restaurant for JD Sports staff. The proposed development located near the M66 is set to rival the big tech firms with preliminary plans already approved back in 2023. With the goal of attracting the top talent to the region, the multi-million development will go into its phase two of planning with Bury council this week. The 3 storey ‘campus’ hub will also feature state of the art offices, meeting rooms & training facilities as well as a presentation theatre & outdoor terraces. With a capacity for around 2000 JD Sports workers the complex is set to be one of the biggest “retail” hubs in the region.
