Clarks continue their 200th anniversary celebrations re-connecting with the Supersonic singer, Liam Gallagher, with the launch of the Desert Rain for March 2025.
Following on from their previous Rambler collaboration with the Oasis frontman back in 2022, the legendary British shoemaker is back with a rare early noughties release. The Desert Rain is a relatively unknown archive silhouette from the Somerset based brand. A revamped version & older sibling of the original Desert boot, the Desert Rain featured Clarks signature crep sole Moccasin style as well as the iconic ‘bank robber’ logo to the heel. Brought back in 2011 by the legendary Mancunian retailer, Oi Polloi, the Desert Rain is a biblical British silhouette that now returns in collaboration with Liam Gallagher for March 2025.
For those who weren’t having it large in big Berghaus jackets or killing “killer bees” on top of a skyscraper somewhere back in the 90s, Clarks can be a bit of a misunderstood shoe brand. For some it’s all about the school shoes, they’re good at that as well, and you’ll probably remember getting sized up in them magical machines they had back in the 80s & 90s. But, for many it’s all about the subcultures from the original Acid House revellers of the Hacienda to the original rude-boys of Kingston to the East Coast hip hop crews of the early 90s.
The Clarks Desert Rain is now revamped courtesy of the Supersonic singer with an updated pebble crep outsole & a jumbo cotton cord upper in a classic beige colourway. Clarks Originals & LG branding appears on the insoles with the addition of a leather lining and tonal laces to complete the very special “rock n roll” collaboration. The Liam Gallagher x Clarks Originals Desert Rain launches on Thursday March 20th 2025 from Clarks & select stockists such as Hip. My earliest memories of Clarks, is probably when I’ve gone to school because everyone was wearing them, they were the all the rage back then. I wore Clarks all the way through the ‘90s, got lots of memories. I don’t think there is any other brand for me, really I find it hard to even look at other brands, Clarks have never let me down.
