Following a slightly weaker Q3 2024 for Moncler SpA, the Milan based luxury apparel company which now also owns Stone Island showed some signs of optimism for their latest Q4 2024 results.
Q4 2024 for Moncler SpA saw an acceleration of sales for Stone Island, following a 3% dip in sales for the previous quarter. Beating analyst expectations, stock in MONC.MI was up around 5% yesterday in late afternoon trading as investors witnessed a small ray of sunshine beaming through the dark clouds which have been firmly sat over the luxury market for the last 12 months. Moncler also showed a stronger demand for the final quarter, with a total annual revenue of €2.707 billion which was up 5%. Driven by the acceleration of their DTC (direct to consumer) channel which improved in all regions compared with the previous quarter.
Stone Island made a recovery in the final quarter after a slight dip in sales throughout the rest of the year with a total annual revenue of €401.6 million, which was 2% lower than the previous year. For the quarter, wholesale revenue & the compass logo brand was down 1% but DTC (Direct to Consumer) was up by 15%. Overall for company profits for the year EBIT (earning before interest & taxes) rose to €916.3 million from €893.8 million. Net profit for Moncler SpA rose by 5% to €639.6 million for 2024.
