The Nike Air Max 1 Batman Trainer is a Caped Crusader Crep

The legendary Tinker Hatfield silhouette gets the Gotham city colourway treatment with the launch of the Nike Air Max 1 Batman trainer for September 2024.

If you were a 90s kid (like me) you’ll remember Jack Nicholson’s epic performance in Tim Burton’s Batman from 1989. A toxic waste gangster that liked nothing more than frying his competitors (literally) and storming museums with spray paint, ghetto blasters & funky ass tracks from Prince. Burton took what was previously considered a cheesy comic book cliche for children courtesy of Adam West with his Lycra & innuendos and made it dark with gangsters, corruption & a decaying city of organised crime. As much as Christian Bale did an amazing job of reviving the Dark Knight in the noughties, there’s just something still very special about the 1989 film. When we saw this latest Nike Air Max 1 Batman trainer we knew we had to give it a mention, what with the nostalgia and all. The caped crusader crep now arrives for September 2024 with a colourway nod to Burton’s 1989 classic. So if you’re into visible air & vigilantes that dress like bats then this drop is most definitely for you.

Following in the footsteps of the Nike Air Max 90 Batman trainer which dropped back in 2022, this latest colourway opts for ‘opti yellow’ & black for the uppers just like the original Batman badge from the 1989 film. Featuring the Air Max 1’s signature leather mudguard with suede panelling and mesh uppers. Opti yellow features to the side swooshes, Air unit & Nike Air branding to the heel & tongue tab as well as the front outsole. A crisp white midsole completes the “cape crusader” inspired colourway.
