Take a closer look at the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 trainer which now lands at retailers in an updated black & metallic silver colourway.
If you had the pleasure of living through the 90s you will remember how thick and fast the Air Max releases really were. In the space of literally 12 months a new silhouette was marketed and the past releases (some) were just kind of forgotten about. The same can be said about the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 from 2006. Yeah it was kind of big at the time, but nothing like the Air Max revival we have seen ever since the Air Max 95 celebrated its 20th anniversary back in 2015. Moving back to 2006 it was all about Gnarls Barkley & brands like Burberry, Stone Island & Prada with Air Max on feet. Originating as part of Nike’s ‘Total Air’ series, the Air Max TL 2.5 had been firmly kept under lock & key at Nike’s Portland archives. Earlier in the year sneaker heads were treated to a glimpse of the revival Air Max silhouette as part of a collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS, followed later in the year with an official re-release in July 2024 of some OG noughties colourways. The 06′ silhouette now returns with the launch of the Nike Air Max TL 2.5 trainer which arrives in a stealthy black & metallic silver colourway for October 2024.
Taking a similar full length Air unit to the Air Max 97, which came 9 years prior, the Air Max TL 2.5 features mesh uppers with synthetic overlays & reflective accents throughout. Black side swooshes adorn the sidewalls and toebox with reflective ‘Max Air’ branding to the heel & for that classic ‘Total Air’ aesthetic.
