The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ trainer from 2009 is the ultimate Air Max grail and now returns for 2024 in celebration of Patta’s 20th anniversary.

Talk to any Air Max aficionado and they’ll probably agree that the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ trainer from 2009 is up there as the holy grail of Air Max releases of all time. Released 15 years ago, the collaboration with the Amsterdam streetwear store cemented the swoosh brands’ love on the streets of Europe with a very special 5th anniversary of Patta. Dropping alongside other Patta Air Max 1 grails over the last 15 years such as ‘Denim’, ‘Purple Denim’, ‘Cherrywood’, ‘Lucky Green’ & more recently ‘Waves’ the legacy of Patta’s relation with the swoosh is literally one of a kind when it comes to “visible” air. Originally celebrating the Amsterdam streetwear store’s 5th anniversary its times like this when you do start to wonder where the time went? In celebration of Patta’s 20th anniversary the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ trainer is re-releasing for 2024.

Founded by Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt back in 2004, Patta has pioneered the Dutch streetwear scene since the early noughties. With a strong connection to Holland’s homegrown hip-hop scene and a passion for records and rare sneakers, Patta is something like Amsterdam’s equivalent of Supreme to New York or Palace to London. With seasonal collections and previous collaborations with the likes of C.P. Company, Carhartt & Vans, Patta have built a cult following across the UK & Europe. With a strong affiliation to Air Max it seemed fitting to re-release one of their all time classics with the Air Max 1 ‘Chlorophyll’ trainer from 2009. After Patta’s co-founders previously teased a potential re-release of the sought after swoosh shoe on Instagram the goods new for Air Max fans is the re-release is now official.

Marking 15 years since the original release, the 2024 version stays true to the OG design. Featuring white leather uppers and suede overlays in grey & green in typical Air Max 1 style. The iconic ‘Chlorophyll’ green colourway also features to the mudguard and side swooshes. There’s also mini swooshes to the front lateral sides with Patta Air Max branding to the tongue. Finished off with the famous “visible air” underfoot this revival release is probably just about as good as it gets when it comes to classic Air Max collaborations in the 2020’s.

With this release, we stick to the essence of the shoe, which really stands the test of time. It’s just an amazing moment to bring back a shoe that’s so coveted, that’s so loved by the sneaker community and the community at large.
