The German sportswear brand PUMA has confirmed in a statement they will be moving their UK head office from London to Manchester on the Oxford Road Corridor.
It’s pretty crazy seeing what has happened to Manchester over the last 10 years. An ever changing skyline of skyscrapers, new apartment blocks, cafes & Co-Ops has transformed the city to become the UK’s “go to” destination of culture & creativity. As a fellow business also located in Manchester, we’re literally in a few miles radius of the great northern retail/brand stronghold. Footasylum’s main distribution centre is located in Middleton, Manchester which serves as a global hub for its online customers with their head offices located just up the road in Kingsway, Rochdale. The Northern wholesale showroom for Carhartt WIP is based just off Hilton Street in Manchester’s trendy Northern Quarter. adidas UK are based in Hazel Grove in Stockport & New Balance are just a bit further down the Shipping Canal from Salford in Warrington, Cheshire alongside their Japanese footwear rivals, ASICS. Then there’s the JD Sports headquarters in Pilsworth just outside of Bury, which is currently undergoing a new Campus HQ set to rival Facebook & Google. Sneaker Jobs can now confirm that the German sportswear brand, PUMA, will be re-locating its UK Head Office from London to Manchester and it seems to be pretty “buzzing” about it.
PUMA has signed a 20,000 sq ft workspace at the new £87 million development located on the Oxford Road Corridor just a short stroll away from St. Peter’s Square in the city centre. The new Manchester head office will offer an immersive, interactive experience, blending sports performance and technology with streetwear designs. A home of PUMA’s UK operations, the move marks a strategic step in its ongoing transformation. PUMA’s connection to Cottonopolis is already pretty strong after sponsoring Man City since 2019 as well as championing a creative campaign in 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of ‘Definitely Maybe’ with Noel Gallagher, Pep Guardiola and the Man City team. The move to Circle Square and state-of-the-art facilities on offer forms a key part of our strategy for providing Puma’s employees with a first class working environment with top facilities and amenities. All whilst being at the centre of a community which offers leading technology, fashion, AI and innovation. Being based at Circle Square will also open up a host of opportunities to tap into the city’s creative talent pool and strengthen our existing links with academic partners like Manchester Metropolitan University – of which we get the added benefit of Bruntwood SciTech being a partner. Now, through our new UK HQ, we look forward to further integrating ourselves in the city’s innovative community.
