The Salomon XT-WHISPER trainer is a tech heavy trail runner from the archives that features SensiFit™ technology for the snuggest sneaker fit ever.
Previously owned by adidas & now under the brand umbrella of Amer Sports, which also includes Arc’teryx, it would be fair to say Salomon has become a bit of a mainstay on the outdoors sneaker world in recent years. Tech heavy trail runners have become a key part of the new found love for “going outdoors”. Covid lockdowns created a desire to get into the countryside as city slickers looked to ditch the grime & crime of the metropolis for the hills & trails of the countryside. With that came a new hybrid style which merged the traditional urban attire with performance gear and trail ready garb. Salomon have been flying the tech heavy trail trainer flag for some time now with a lineage of celebrated XT silhouettes such as the XT-4 & the XT-6 GORE-TEX that pack more innovation than your average shoe. The Salomon XT-WHISPER is another silhouette from the XT line & it would be fair to say it doesn’t go quiet on the trainer tech.
Now revived from the Salomon archives for December 2024, the XT-WHISPER certainly packs a punch, as is probably to be expected. Part of the XT design legacy, the trail ready trainer features textured layers to the uppers with a combination of 3D mesh for breathability, anti-debris mesh to prevent dirt getting trapped between your foot & reflective detailing for extra visibility.
A lace pocket provides easy storage for the Quicklace™ lacing system with a protective toecap & SensiFit™ technology which provides a secure & snug sneaker fit. The Agile Chassis™ System provides provides stability and dampening which works alongside the EnergyCell midsole. Underfoot there’s Mud Contagrip® sole technology for some of the best grip on the outdoors sneaker market. The Salomon XT-WHISPER trainer in treetop/wren/sulphur spring is available now from select stockists such as Footpatrol.
