The size? x adidas Originals Hamburg Exclusive puts a modern spin on the classic City Series trainer with updated ballistic nylon uppers.

You’ve got to give size? credit where it’s due when it comes to their exclusive & ongoing City Series releases with adidas Originals. Ever since the Hamburg was released back in 2014 we’ve seen various exclusive colourways from the JD Sports owned streetwear & sneaker store. For September 2024 the coveted City Series shoe is now introduced as another exclusive with the size? x adidas Originals Hamburg  trainer which now arrives in ballistic nylon as oppose to traditional suede uppers of the early 80s 3 stripes silhouette. Apart from the textural update, the classic gum soled shoe remains true to its OG design.

adidas fans out there have been lapping up the exclusive City Series stuff from size? over the last 10 years and as much as new silhouettes and come go, the City Series still remains a key talking point among adidas aficionados. Originally introduced back in the 1970s, the City Series featured the names of European cities, taking colourway inspiration from its respective city. The sheer rarity of these releases, before the days of apps and raffles, saw the likes of the Amsterdam, the Berlin, the London, the Dublin, the Copenhagen, the Malmo & the Hamburg became some of the most in demand adi trainers of the 1970s & 1980s. The original ‘Made in Yugoslavia’ version of the Hamburg in the silhouette’s signature navy & white colourway from 1982 really set the bar as far as the Continental City series was concerned.

Revived from the Herzogenaurach archives back in 2014, the adidas Hamburg has become a mainstay on the 3 stripes trainer scene. Now treated to another very special size? exclusive, the Hamburg gets a textural update for 2024, swapping the traditional suede uppers for an updated ballistic nylon. Everything else stays true to OG form with the Hamburg’s iconic T-toe detailing to the front in suede as well as the perforated 3 stripes to the sidewalls. Finished off with the classic gum sole unit & ‘HAMBURG’ branding in silver foiling to the lateral sides this latest Hamburg release ticks all the boxes for the classic adidas trainer fans.
