If you know your Tinto Terra from your Tella Stella then you will of course know that Stone Island have put on quite a few exhibitions over the last 10 years. Their Prototype Research Series, which was usually in collaboration with Milan Design Week showcased a range of concepts and one of a kind pieces. For October 2024 the compass logo brand has now teamed up with the Montreal based luxury retailer, Holt Renfrew, to celebrate four decades of Stone Island’s garment innovation for menswear. Running from October 17th to 27th 2024 their latest exhibition titled ‘Material Research’ showcases 24 pieces from 1984 to 2024, exploring some of their most innovative fabrics & silhouettes from the past & the present. Highlighting some top tier Stoney stuff such as camo concepts, metallic materials, thermo-sensitive & reflective fabrics from the original Osti era to later Stone Island designers like Paul Harvey & Carlo Rivetti. Not only can visitors gauge on some classic Stoney gear, there’s also a bespoke coffee bar, for a compass logo infused cuppa.
